In Xbox Madden 10, Hit the Gridiron, and Land the Best Success

If you're still unsure about Xbox Madden 10, then you need a trip through the football video game timeline, back to the beginning, to change your mind. Sure, there's something not right about saying a current game is great merely because it blows away its ancestors. Then again, those side-by-side comparisons help underscore the fact that Xbox Madden 10 is a truly top-notch football video game. It was inevitable, given the popularity of handheld football games in the B.C. (before consoles) era, that gamers would want a video football game to satisfy their needs. The bad news, though, was that video game technology was still in the "post-Pong" phase, and the games reflected those limitations. Even then, the game companies were excellent at the hype, and kept boasting that this one boasted "all the excitement" of real football.

The players themselves have closer resemblance to space aliens than members of a football team. Rough, but true. And if the picture has you cringing, you can only imagine what the gameplay is like. An early symptom of the low-tech nature of older video games was graphics that just blinked like crazy, rendering the action impossible to read. Gamers used to the crisp aural sensation of today's games would be stunned by the lack of cool sound here. Again, things like the scrolling screen wouldn't be a required part of any game for a while yet. In a short matter of time, the competitors entered the video game console field, and brought out their take on a more realistic football video game. They definitely took the ball and ran with this one, giving gamers better gameplay, visuals, and sound. It wasn't there yet, though. No doubt, it was a real exciting time for hardcore gamers, but there was still a ways to go before football video games would dominate the industry. It would take a few more years before anything like that took place. The next level in football video games had been reached, and still we're seeing a following for this one. Over the years, this was the yardstick by which all football video games were measured.

Why this went supernova isn't hard to figure out - with actual offensive and defensive strategies, they brought in a new level of realism. With the improvements in both the sound and the graphics, gamers saw this as the first and last word in video football games. With the online revival, today's gamers are getting a taste of yesteryear - and loving it. While worthy of praise, it still trails in the distance from Xbox Madden 10. Hard to believe how much these games have improved since they first came on the scene. So, yeah, no point in calling out the old football games. You've gotten the point. Those games had their weaknesses, but if it weren't for them, we wouldn't be playing Xbox Madden 10 today, so they did get the ball rolling. Of course, Xbox Madden 10 has really kicked this one over the goal posts, which has the video game world pretty pleased. The fans aren't the only ones raving about Xbox Madden 10 - the critics have said their piece, and they're into it. "Realistic and enjoyable" are comments you'll see during most Xbox Madden 10 reviews. EA Sports didn't even come close to fumbling the ball with Xbox Madden 10, that's for sure.

Don't let the naysayers shape your opinion - Xbox Madden 10 is a game for the ages. As great as Xbox sports video games offerings are, Xbox Madden 10 is at the top of the pack. Most of the gaming world agrees that this is the new standard by which the rest shall be judged. Better still, the true gamers know that this is the arena which will separate the wheat from the chaff, after you play video games for money. Now, Xbox Madden 10 fanatics can throw down the gauntlet and play video games for money. After you've really given yourself a crash course and learned all the rules, you'll score touchdown after touchdown - and make off with your rival's bankroll as well.
